Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have recorded a major victory in the ongoing fight against insurgency in Borno State, rescuing 86 kidnapped victims and arresting 29 logistics suppliers linked to Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists.
According to a military statement issued on Sunday by the Media Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, troops from the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2 OPHK engaged the terrorists on November 9, 2025, at Dutse Kura, after intercepting information that insurgents were abducting civilians and vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.
The troops reportedly foiled the ambush, pursued the fleeing terrorists towards Mangari, and overpowered them in a fierce follow-up operation near one of their camps. During the clearance, 86 hostages—including men, women, and children—were safely rescued.
A search of the area also led to the destruction of 11 makeshift terrorist structures and the recovery of several items, including:
One AK-47 rifle and five magazines with 73 rounds of ammunition
Four PKT ammunition belts
Five civilian vehicles
Five motorcycles and eight bicycles
Two logistics tricycles
In a separate operation at Mangada, troops arrested 29 terrorist logistics suppliers transporting fuel and other items to insurgents in the Chilaria area. Recovered items include two pickup trucks and a tricycle loaded with about 1,000 litres of petrol, engine oil, new gun truck tyres, medical supplies, and large quantities of foodstuffs.
The military confirmed that there were no casualties among the troops.
The Defence Headquarters commended the gallantry and professionalism of the soldiers, urging them to sustain the momentum and continue to deny terrorists freedom of movement across the North-East region.
